Adventure

Kayak tours of Icy Bay, glacier viewing, whale watching, panning for gold...it all awaits you on a truly raw Alaskan adventure!

Imagine kayaking amongst the seals sunning on icebergs, eagles soaring overhead and massive glaciers caving into the bay. A thunderous mountain of ice spills into the bay along with the gentle swell roll under your boat, slowly rocking you and your friends...Welcome to Icy Bay, Alaska!

No tour boats, no cruise ships, no crowds. A true wilderness experience in one of National Geographic's 10 Treasures of the World. But glacier choked fjords are only part of the show.

Looming over the bay is the majestic Mt. St. Elias, shooting up to an impossible 18,000 ft straight up from the sea as the rest of the Wrangell-St. Elias range fills in the horizon. Icy Bay boasts the largest population of seals in Alaska, and the bay is home to thousands of birds from Eagles to Oystercatchers, Gulls and Ducks. On land you will spot coyotes, bears, wolves, moose and more!

Safety at Sea, Safety on Land: Bears and wolves are a part of the ecosystem here and we will instruct you on how to minimize the chance of an encounter. In addition to basic bear training, all tour groups are encouraged to carry sbear spray (proven to be more effective than firearms).

Customize your dream outdoor adventure - Add a sea delivery of you and your kayaks to the fjord of your choice if a camping adventure is in your plans. We offer additional nights at the lodge or kayak tour guides to customize your paddle vacation to meet the needs of your group or clients.
